I recently read an article, in People Magazine about a past weight loss champ. I have also watched the show many times. In the article, it talks about how a man lost 239 pounds!!! The show is absolutely incredible.
I was amazed from the start about this man. Now, I am not the skinniest person but to lose 239 pounds seems astounding to me! You can't help and smile for this man who has made such a huge and dramatic change in his life.
If you've ever watched the show you will see that it is all for real. No diet pill, no gastric by-pass surgery. It's hard work and sweat! They work out everyday, do exercise challenges, eat a healthy diet. Basically they transform their lifestyle so that can lead a healthier more vibrant life. The people who go on the show are not just a little on the over weight side, they are obese. They live with many health issues as a result of being over weight. Diabetes, high blood pressure, sore joints. Not only do they face health issues but they face public scrutiny and are ashamed of who they have become. These people realize they have to make a huge change in their life and do what even most skinny people can't do. EXERCISE, EXERCISE, EXERCISE!!! God bless them all that they have found the will-power and courage to make this change in their lifestyle.
In conclusion, I have to admit I'm envious. Like I said before I am not the skinniest person, and I can definitely stand to loose a few pounds. Not everyone has the will or desire to go through what they did. Change is scary and sometimes it's just easier to grab another hand full of chips and keep things as they are. So I challenge you (and myself)...are you BIG ENOUGH to be the biggest loser??? I hope so...

The Obama's
I decided to blog about the Obama's today. And, yes...my main source came from People Magazine. Please know right off the top that I am not big into politics. I am one of those sad people who could really care less about voting. But I am intrigued my President Barack Obama and his family.
I have to admit that I find myself always wanting to hear more about them. The story in People Magazine focuses on what it was like for them in their first year under his presidency. I loved the whole article.
They seem very wholesome as a family. Whether or not he's a good president, I'm not going to really go there. But as a dad and husband, President Obama seems really genuine, as does his wife and 2 girls. As you can imagine, the President leads a very hectic lifestyle. Regardless, the President and Mrs. Obama always seem to make thier family their top priority. As they should. They make time for dinner together, play in the snow, and many others things that most of us do as a family together. I remember once reading an article (probably in People Magazine) that discussed how things were going to change for the 1st family once they moved into the White House. I found it so interesting that their girls still needed to set their own alarm clocks everyday and be responsible for getting themselves up and around each morning. Also with a staff of hundreds, the girls still had to clean their own rooms. I don't know why but that always seemed so humbling to me.
In conclusion, I think many of us could handle taking a cue or two from the Obama's. Learn from their family values, be the people that they were raised to be. Not everyone grows up in the best of circumstances but we can decide what kind of adult, parent, and spouce we want to be. I think the Obama's have a pretty good idea of what they are all about.

Tiger Woods
Drum roll please.......I found my current blog information in People Magazine! If you didn't read my past blog then you need to know that I am a People Magazine junkie! I love it and can't get enough of it! The story I would like to discuss today would the controversy surrounding Tiger Woods. For those of you who are not familiar with Tiger Woods, he is on of the greatest golfers of all time. He is what Micheal Jordan was to the basketball world. Tiger Woods has always had a squeaky clean image, and is now facing divorce and public scrutiny by having numerous affairs on his beautiful wife.
I, by no means am a sports person. It's just not my thing. But every once in a while someone comes along and stands out in the crowd. For me that person was Tiger Woods. I was extremely disappointed when I heard what was happening with him.
He always seemed to have it all. A wonderful family, great up-bringing, fantastic career, beautiful wife, great kids. And it's as if he let it all slip away. He has been linked to having as many as a dozen different affairs. I guess the reason I was so disappointed by this news is because he seemed like he was so different from all the other celebrities that you hear about. I can truly say that I held him on a pedestal of integrity. It was a very disheartening moment for me. Now as a result of his now very public affairs, he is facing divorce, his sponsors are bailing on him, he's no longer the "man" he was suppose to be.
Who knows why he did what he did. Maybe he was never the perfect poster boy he appeared to be, maybe he wants out of the lime-light, maybe he did it for some attention. With out walking in his shoes, I really shouldn't be so harsh and judgmental. I actually feel like slapping myself on the back of the hand for throwing out accusations with out knowing the whole story, but I do know that I will never be able to think of Tiger Woods as the great icon that I once did.

Super stars who waste their money!!!
You will soon realize with this post and future posts that I am a People Magazine junkie!!! Most if not all my post will probably be from articles with in People Magazine. The blog I'm writing about today is from the article involving Heidi Montag. I have never really personally been a fan of Ms. Montag's. I think she is another mindless socialite who claims to be an actress. The article about her features information about he being addicted to plastic surgery. In fact, she had 10 operations in 1 day. And now her even her own mother won't be able to recognize her.
My first response to the article was pretty much..."Another hollywood superstar who has too much time and money on her hands." I pretty much felt the same way throughout the whole article as I do now...what a waste!
I'm sorry, but I think it's sad! She obviously already thin, already beautiful, already talented. She should be seeing a shrink rather than a money hungry plastic surgeon who should tell her to take care of what's going on inside rather than the outside. Then come talk to me when you do! I just think that makes so much more sense. If she continues down this path she's obviously on a self-distructive one!
In conclusion, take care of you! I see nothing wrong with a little plastic surgery or wanting to better yourself! But do it for the right reasons! I think we should all say a little prayer for Ms. Montag tonight and others just like her.
