This is a very tragic event!
Sea World's senior trainer, Dawn Brancheau died today from an apparent attack by a killer whale. The whale, Tully has been known for it's aggressive behavior apparently grabbed Brancheau by the arm during a exibit and began thrashing her around. There were actual eye witnesses that observed her death. Tully is kept in his own area as a result of his violent past that resulted in the deaths of 2 other victims. Brancheau once spoke about the known dangers of training and working with the whales everyday but this is still a tragic end to her life.
When I was I child, my parents and I went to Sea World on a family vacation. I remember it being one of the most fasinating things I had ever seen. To see the trainers in the water with such an enormous animal that seemed so friendly and loving. There was even one part of the show where the whale opened it's mouth and the trainer was tickeling the whales tongue. It was amazing! I loved everything about it! I had actually been contenplating taking my own children there this summer. I know bad things happen all the time, especially when you least expect them too but I can't help but feel a little hesitant about taking them. I know they would love it but I can't help but think of that poor woman who died while doing something that she loved so much!
In conclusion, I will say a prayer for Dawn Brancheau tonight and hope she is resting in peace.

OK my comment is nothing against you, I think you wrote an excellent article and I love your opinion. But I have issue's on the article. I am a CNN nut I watch it 24/7. People are not saying the truth. First off the accident of this woman happened after the show. There was Very FEW people that actually seen what happened. Plus, there is an ongoing investigation of someone intentially upsetting the killer whale. One last thing look at the name it's a KILLER whale, what did you think was eventually going to happen and they want to kill this whale as if it was a domestic dog that killed a person. It's NOT! It's a Wild animal that belongs in the wild. Plus we call it a KILLER whale for a reason...It KILLS! Thank-you for writing on this article. Look next week for my update to this story because you might find out this was not an accident but a MURDER of a wonderful woman!
